Kids smiling and pointing to text announcing that Highly Capable Referrals are now open for the 2025-26 school year

Referrals are now being accepted for the Ridgefield School District's Highly Capable Program identification process for the 2025-26 school year. This process is intended for students who have not yet been assessed or met the program's eligibility criteria. Students already enrolled in the program will continue their eligibility automatically and do not need to reapply.

Referrals can be made by anyone, including parents, teachers, peers, and community members. The Highly Capable Program serves the unique needs of highly capable students in grades K-12. For detailed information about program goals, the identification process, and service models, please refer to the 2190P Highly Capable Program Procedures,.  Paper copies are available at all schools.

Referral forms can be accessed online at www.ridgefieldsd.org/page/highly-capable-program. If you prefer a paper copy, email highlycapable@ridgefieldsd.org to request one.

Testing for students in grades 1 through 7 will occur in March and April, while kindergarten testing will take place in April. Testing dates cannot be rescheduled unless there is a documented family emergency or illness. Referrals must be submitted by February 3, 2025.
