South Ridge Elementary hosted an MLK Day assembly on Friday, January 24, titled "The Boy Who Wanted to Play Baseball," a theater production about the life of Martin Luther King Jr. performed by the 4th Grade Leadership students.
The event also featured the first public performance by the school's 60-member fourth grade choir, led by teacher John Thomas. The choir performed four songs, including three from the Civil Rights Era, to mark the occasion and celebrate Dr. King's enduring message of equality, justice, and hope.
