School bond survey results

Dear Ridgefield School District Community,

After the district’s latest attempt in April to pass a school construction bond failed to reach the required supermajority, the district created and shared a survey to collect feedback from the community. We received more than 350 responses to the survey, and we want to extend our sincere gratitude to the community members who took the time to participate by sharing your thoughts and opinions regarding the school construction bonds. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.

We are pleased to announce that a summary of the survey results will be presented at the next board meeting. Please note that due to a scheduling conflict, this meeting will deviate from the typical Tuesday board meeting schedule and will instead be held on Wednesday, June 26th at 5 p.m. in the Columbian Assembly Room at the Ridgefield Administrative and Civic Center at 510 Pioneer Street in Ridgefield. If you are unable to attend in person, you can join the meeting via Zoom by visiting https://www.ridgefieldsd.org/page/board-of-directors and clicking on the “Join the Board Meeting via Zoom” button.

In our ongoing efforts to understand and incorporate community perspectives, board members have welcomed members of both the con and pro committees to share their takeaways from the recent bond campaigns. These discussions have been crucial in gathering a wide range of feedback and ideas concerning the district’s future steps.

Looking ahead, the board will collaborate with incoming superintendent Dr. Jenny Rodriquez in July to review all the information collected. Furthermore, we are planning to host a public town hall meeting in the near future, with the exact date still to be determined. This event will serve as a platform to discuss the survey results and explore various ideas for moving forward. Additionally, we are exploring the re-establishment of a capital facilities advisory committee to help guide our decisions regarding the district's infrastructure needs.

We appreciate your continued involvement and support in shaping the future of our schools. More details on the town hall and other initiatives will be shared as they become available.

Thank you once again for your participation and commitment to our community's educational environment.

Sincerely,

Ridgefield School District
