At the regular board of directors meetings on November 28 and December 12, Interim Superintendent Chris Griffith presented information about the district's capital facility needs and the history of school construction bonds. Copies of those presentations, as well as the Capital Facilities Advisory Committee report, are included below.
- Capital Facilities Needs Presentation from Nov. 28, 2023 Board Meeting

As a follow up to these presentations, and to provide additional opportunities for those not able to previously attend, the Ridgefield School District is hosting four events to review the history and details of its capital facilities planning efforts. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide input about the district’s plans for how to address the needs of the district amongst continued population and enrollment growth. “We are dedicated to addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by our growing community and the number of students enrolled in Ridgefield Schools,” said board president Brett Jones. “As we continue planning for and eventually building additional classroom space, your insights and participation are invaluable. We hope you can join us at one of our upcoming meetings.”
The first three events will be informal “coffee talks” where two dedicated members of our local school board will be meeting with the community to discuss the pressing needs of our schools. These events provide an excellent opportunity for parents, educators, and concerned citizens to connect with their elected representatives, learn about the needs of the district, and share their thoughts while gaining insight into the future of education in our area and the planning efforts that have already taken place.
All members of the community are invited to these public events. These coffee talks are scheduled for:

The last event will be a formal town hall meeting featuring all members of the Ridgefield School board. Community members are welcome to attend in person, and the event will also be streamed via Zoom. Attendees will see a presentation going over the history of schools and bonds in the district and learn about the most pressing issues the district’s facilities are facing, and will take and answer questions from attendees.
The town hall event will be on Wednesday, January 3rd from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex (RORC) located at 3101 South Hillhurst Road in Ridgefield.
“As a fairly new board team, we are committed to open communication and collaboration with our community as we work to address the pressing needs of our growing school district,” said Amber Baker, director of district 2. “The need for capital improvements is not lessening, and community feedback on how we can work together to address those needs is vitally important. We are hopeful that we can work together to ensure that our schools not only accommodate our increasing numbers but also reflect the needs, reality, and aspirations of our community.”
