Ridgefield School District is pleased to announce Tawny Malone has been selected as the next principal of South Ridge Elementary School. Malone, who currently serves as the school’s assistant principal, will step into the role following the departure of current principal Jill Neyenhouse. Neyenhouse has accepted a new position as the district’s Director of Career Pathways and Community Engagement.
“This was an extremely competitive process. I want to thank our staff for their input and involvement in the hiring process, including the many folks who turned out for the finalists’ meet-and-greet this past week,” said Superintendent Dr. Jenny Rodriquez. “Ms. Malone’s deep commitment to student success, her experience in instructional leadership, and her strong relationships within the school community made her an outstanding choice. We’re excited about the future of South Ridge under her leadership.”
Malone brings 24 years of experience in elementary education, with expertise in instructional leadership, curriculum development, and professional growth. She is passionate about fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement, and during her time as assistant principal, she has led key initiatives to improve teaching practices, elevate student outcomes, and build strong connections with families and the broader school community.
In addition to her leadership at South Ridge, Malone previously served as a District Mathematics Curriculum & Instruction Specialist, where she guided district-wide efforts to enhance K-12 math instruction. Her diverse background includes experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and administrator.
“I am honored and excited to continue serving the South Ridge community in this new role,” Malone said. “This school is a special place, full of dedicated educators, amazing students, and supportive families. I look forward to continuing our work together to make South Ridge the best it can be.”
Malone will officially begin her new role as principal on July 1, 2025.
