Experience Ridgefield features a multitude of family-friendly activities including games, an inflatable bouncy house, a rock climbing wall, face painting, potato sack races, and a selfie photo booth. The festivities also include craft vendors, informational kiosks, and various local food vendors serving up delicious snacks, meals, and beverages.
If you have students in the district and need additional school supplies or other resources, please visit the Ridgefield Family Resource Center. The RFRC has extended hours the week of August 21-25. See the included image for hours.
On Saturday, August 19th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., families are invited to a Back 2 School bash at Davis Park (305 N. 3rd Avenue in Ridgefield). Sponsored by Compassion 360, the Ridgefield Farmer's Market, and the Ridgefield Family Resource Center, there will be free school supplies available, haircuts for kids, and plenty of family games! It's going to be a great time, and we hope to see you there!
The Ridgefield School District has surplus equipment, bookshelves, desks and student desks, file cabinets, shelving, books, desktop and laptop computers, and other miscellaneous classroom and tech supplies for sale. Online enrollment is open for 2023-24 kindergartners (can you believe the Class of 2036 is already starting school?). Any child who will be five years old before Sept. 1, 2023 is eligible to enter kindergarten in the fall. To enroll, parents will need proof of their child's birth date (such as a birth certificate) and a signed and completed Washington state Certificate of Immunization Status form. Note that the State of Washington requires that immunization records be medically verified for students entering in the fall.

Join us Tuesday, March 28th for the annual Ridgefield School District Art Show! The event features student artwork from each of our schools and will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Ridgefield High School.
Last night at South Ridge Elementary School, 3rd and 4th grade students sang songs, demonstrated "cardio drumming", and showed off their juggling skills at a pair of performances in the school cafeteria. The performances were the culmination of a partnership between the school's music and P.E. teachers. RHS 10th grader Brandon Nguyen won the 200 meters (23.46) and 400 meters (52.59) at the Lewis River Jamboree to earn a nomination for The Columbian's Week 21 Prep Athlete of the Week! IMPORTANT UPDATE: the location for this Friday's Alumni Luncheon has been changed! The luncheon will now take place at the Ridgefield Administrative and Civic Center (RACC) at 510 Pioneer Street.
This event was originally scheduled to be held in the Performing Arts Center at Ridgefield High School, but due to last week's winter weather closures and the amended school calendar, this Friday, March 3 is now a school attendance day and the PAC is no longer available for this event.
On Friday, Feb. 24th, Ridgefield Schools will be on a 3-hour late start schedule. Schools will release at their regular times. As always during periods of inclement weather and/or poor driving conditions, school schedules are subject to change. A final determination about Friday's school schedule will be made in the morning, and we will notify families and staff if there are any additional changes. Stay safe!

Due to inclement weather and current road conditions, all Ridgefield Schools will be on a 2-hour late start schedule on Thursday, Feb. 23rd. We will reassess road conditions and the weather in the morning. In the event that the decision is made to close schools for the entire day tomorrow, additional notifications will be sent via text, automated phone call, and email.

This Friday from 6:30 to midnight, our school libraries are co-hosting a "Movies 'til Midnight" event at the Ridgefield Community Library! Library events and programs are open to the public and provided at no cost. There will even be popcorn and late night snacks!
